Rinya water-system reconstruction

Developments for surface water protection on protected areas of regional significance DDOP 5.1.5.A/2F scheme
The project is funded jointly by the European Union and the European Regional Development Fund.

Introduction of the project:
The aim of the development is the reconstruction of Rinya at Babócsa, Lábod and Szabás. As a result of the developments the rivers will be able to handle the reference flood water output levels, and their iverbeds will be sustainable and easy to be cleared with machines.

In the inner territory of Nagyatád, the standard high water output (Q3-%) amounts need to be easily directed on downstream. On this section, the deepening and widening of the riverbed is necessary. On the deepening section, further deviances need to be stopped by raising and stabilizing parts of the bed. On the outer territories of the town, small rivulets will be restored on an ecological basis, taking into account the wildlife of the river, for example with ensuring longitudinal penetrability in the form of fish passes.


The project and tender will proceed in two rounds, in which the developmental phase will take place between April 2008 and May 2009, and the implementation of the project follow in the subsequent 1,5-2 years. The deadline for realization is December 2011. The total sum of the project is 557 million Forints.

The investment can be realized with the help of “Új Magyarország” Development Scheme and the South-Transdanubian Regional Operative Program.
