Regional Water Management Council

We perform the administrative work of two councils at our Directorate. The operation and structure of the council are regulated by the 5/2009 KvVM Decree.

Water Management Councils working under our supervision:

1. South-Transdanubian Water Management council, DDTVT for short. Chairman:  József Szekó, vice-chairman: Miklós Ift. The council has two professional committees, one in Baranya County and one in Somogy County.

The council assists the activities of regional water management, and also synchronizes the work of hydrological planning and services.

Tasks:
- reviews water-management, development and water reserve division plans,
- reviews water-quality and sewage programs, significant regional water investments, and tasks related to borderline waters
-  gives recommendations for problems among regions regarding water usage and utilization, and also in the process of preparing documents of legal regulation
- assesses flood and drainage water prevention and protection plans and actions,
- gives professional opinion on feasibility studies of subsidized investments of local governments,
- helps actualize, shape and diseminate the goals of water management.

For making water management planning more familiar to the public, our Directorate has been assigned with forming new councils.

2. On the 25th of August, 2009, The Drava Subcatchment Water Management Council was formed. This is not only for South-Transdanubia, but for the entire subcatchment region of Drava. The chairman of the council: Miklós Ift, vice-chairman: Miklós Toldi.

Tasks:
- reviews the order of actions needed to be taken for higher water quality
- Inspects that the notices and complaints are given proper attention
- synchronizes the participation of public actors in planning
- expresses a standpoint about the Drava Subcatchment Water Management Plan.
